Piccadilly Radio began broadcasting music and news to Greater Manchester at 5am on Tuesday 2 April 1974. I was a (very small) part of the original line-up in April 1974, leaving in August to join the BBC Radios 1 & 2 Presentation Dept as a newsreader, announcer and Radio 2 Presenter. I returned briefly to Piccadilly in 1977. There are also some early memories of Piccadilly's first morning, those superb jingles, the terrible equipment and other bits and pieces.
