![]() ![]() Piccadilly Radio 261 began broadcasting pop music and news to Greater Manchester at 5am on Tuesday 2 April 1974. I was (a very minor) part of the original line-up in April 1974, and returned briefly in 1977. There are loads of pictures, some of them in black & white (it really WAS that long ago!) There's also some audio of early promos and airchecks. Have a listen to the audio including that infamous first morning version of 'Good Vibrations'... and some completely new audio from Trevor Thomas: a 7-minute 'Sound Of The Station' promo from the first year... sample some of those fabulous CCS jingles... and the later 1977 package.
