The East Midlands's 106.6 Smooth Radio started broadcasting in March 2007, after being re-branded from Saga Radio. I was there for around three years until GMG brought in networked programmes, and below are a couple of examples from that time. I mainly did weekends which included a brave experiment in non-playlist programming on Sunday evenings called Jeff Cooper's Collection, which was doomed to failure when the new owners (GMG) couldn't understand anything so "uncontrolled" (by them).
